We are currently looking to recruit 2 engineering apprentices to join the UK Plant team. Reporting to the Workshop(s) Facilities Manager the role will be varied and challenging.

This is a 4 year apprenticeship resulting in a Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing & Engineering. The first year will be spent at Midland Group Training Services (MGTS) in Coventry learning core practical and theoretical elements of the role. For the following years, apprentices will attend MGTS on a day release basis to complete the necessary educational requirements for the programme.

Skills you'll develop include:

  • Mechanical applications and solutions
  • Electrical wiring, testing and installation
  • Robotics
  • Pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • Process Control Systems

Responsibilities and Duties will include:

  • To undertake a range of tasks suited to the current level of training and development
  • To attend college (MGTS) as required and complete coursework on time and to a high standard
  • Through work shadowing understand workshop procedures
  • To understand, complete and maintain machine service reports
  • Comply with company policies and procedures
  • To work in a safe and efficient manner
  • To comply with all Health and Safety practices and policies
  • To take on additional responsibilities in years 2, 3 & 4 of apprenticeship
  • Work effectively within the UK Plant department
  • Communicate effectively with workshop management & supervisor
  • Be mindful of waste

Entry Requirements

We are seeking applications from candidates who have or are predicted to gain 5 x GCSEs (or equivalent). Grades must be A*-C / 9-5 for Maths and A*-C / 9-4 for English, Science and two other subjects.

Training to be Provided

  • Level 2 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Foundation Competence)
  • BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Knowledge)
  • Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Competence)
