Who we want…
This is a 4-year Level 3 Engineering Fitter apprenticeship. The apprenticeship offers a comprehensive blend of hands-on learning, academic study, and industry experience, providing the perfect foundation for a successful career in the rotating machines engineering sector.
Year 1:
- Full-Time Training at Midland Group Training Services (MGTS): During the first year, you will attend MGTS in Coventry on a full-time basis. This year will focus on building a strong foundation, learning both practical and theoretical aspects of the role. You will gain core skills essential for your apprenticeship, including engineering principles and hands-on techniques.
Years 2–4:
- Day Release at MGTS: From year 2 onwards, you will attend MGTS on a day-release basis, continuing to develop your knowledge and skills. You'll complete the educational components required for the program while gaining valuable on-the-job experience with Quartzelec.
- HNC & HND Opportunity: From year 3, you may have the opportunity to be supported in studying for a Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Engineering enhancing your qualifications and furthering your career prospects.

Entry Requirements
We are seeking applications from candidates who have or are predicted to gain 5 x GCSEs (or equivalent). Grades must be A*-C / 9-5 for Maths and A*-C / 9-4 for English, Science and two other subjects.
Training to be Provided
- Level 2 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Foundation Competence)
- BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Knowledge)
- Level 3 Diploma in Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering (Development Competence)
