As part of their latest Further Education project apprentices had the chance to consolidate their practical skills with their technical knowledge. Their challenge…to design a conveyor belt including a prototype to allow them to preview and improve their designs.
Congratulations to Jamie Hurst of Quartzelec on being awarded Apprentice of the Year at the recent MGTS Awards evening. This award is presented to the apprentice who has performed exceptionally well throughout the duration of the first year training period.
Each year MGTS celebrates the achievements and talents of apprentices with awards evenings at our Coventry and Redditch Technical Centres. For 2023 we decided to combine the celebrations and were delighted that apprentices and employers travelled far and wide to attend.

Bailey won the 'MGTS Advanced Apprentice Graduate Award 2022' and was selected as one of 19 finalists, out of 22,000 from across the country for the recent GTA England Apprenticeship Awards.We think she is an inspiration to anyone considering an engineering apprenticeship.
We have an outstanding number of young people that develop as engineers through MGTS, of which many gain promotion and rise through the ranks within their companies. This is testament to the successful tri-partnership between MGTS, the employer and of course the apprentice.
It's always wonderful to celebrate the achievements of our apprentices. After a few years of being unable to hold physical events, it was wonderful to get everyone together in person to hold our Apprenticeship Awards Evening for our Coventry apprentices on 26 January.
